Praytell x Canada Tourism: Northern Lights

Challenge

Create an experiential exhibit that shines a light on Canada as the “home of winter” and inspires North American travelers to put our neighbors to the north at the top of their travel destination list.

Approach

Trigger(House teamed up with PR agency Praytell and multimedia studio Moment Factory to bring an eye-popping recreation of Mother Nature’s loveliest show, the Northern Lights, to the heart of New York City: Grand Central Terminal. The main attraction featured an oversized room constructed of an interactive touch-sensitive LED floor, mirrored ceiling, 360-degree audio system, and a set of 3D sensors, giving visitors an idea of what it would be like to witness one of the world’s seven natural wonders in person. Completing the footprint were “Home of Winter” experiences that included native scenic elements, oversized maps, and photography showcasing Canada’s world-class culture, most iconic places, and incredible experiences—all QR-enabled to easily access travel info and instant booking. Guests were also encouraged to enter a contest where one lucky winner would receive an all expense paid epic vacation to the Home of Winter.

Results

The experience generated over 2.2 billion media impressions with coverage in over 170 media placements. Over 10,000 guests experienced the exhibit first-hand over a three-day period.
